Why Zinc water conditioners can be a waste of time!

Stopping limescale with Zinc has been shown to be 95% efficient at stopping limescale build up. How does this work and why can it be a waste of time?

It works because Zinc is being released into the water, and Zinc and Calcium are highly attracted to each other so they naturally react to form Aragonite which is a non-adhering lime. So no magnetic and no wires wrapping wires around pipes, we are

simply releasing zinc which wants to react with calcium.

So why do we say this brilliant method can be a waste of time?  It has an Achilles Heal which is the same fact behind why it works. The Zinc and Calcium are highly attracted to each other. So the Anode inside any zinc based unit will quickly become scaled up. Ask any plumber what the Zinc anode looks like after he has removed it from a hot water tank. See right.

So How does Aquabion get around this? Aquabion does a number of things right most importantly of all though is the patented self-cleaning devices which create turbulence. This creates a small scale free zone where the anode is located. Simple but effective.

Since we have had this product fitted our water has been great for our skin, great for our dishwasher and washing machines as we notice our clothes feel fresher.  I would recommend this product to my friends and further suggest that this product will save you money in the long term as it will reduce issues with pipe clogging up. All new homes being built in a hard water area should have this product fitted as a mandatory instruction for all builders
