Why is Hard Water a Problem?
Is it really such a problem?
Hard water is a problem in that it may scale up your kettle and other appliances but there is increasing evidence that it helps protect your heart. Hmm, it’s a quandary isn’t it?
Hard water is rich in minerals. In particular it has a pretty high concentration of Magnesium. And let’s be honest here, the evidence is not complete by any means, but it does appear that Magnesium plays a powerful role in keeping our hearts healthy.
So why is hard water a problem? Because we don’t love the nasty bits. It’s a pain to have your kettle scaled up with limescale and have to buy a new washing machine because of the mineral deposits that hard water leaves in its wake. The thing is, most of us don’t necessarily realise that there is good that comes from hard water too. The ‘bad’ overwhelms the good and then comes the desire for a water softener. But in actual fact there is an alternative, and that is the AQUABION water conditioner.
Water conditioning unit – If you know nothing about water conditioners, very little or have never even heard of them then here are a few facts that might make you re-consider your desire to fit a water softener.
A Great Alternative to Softeners
Conditioners do exactly what it says on the tin as it were. They condition the water and that means that the beneficial minerals are left behind rather than stripped out. If it’s possible to benefit from your hard water then why not?
The benefits of hard water include our dietary needs of essential minerals such as Calcium and Magnesium. We need these minerals and they are readily available from our water.
So a conditioner rather than a softener means that you keep all of those amazing health benefits. A water conditioner is simply a general term for a system that changes the water quality for the better in some way. Different types of water conditioner systems have the ability to filter and remove Chlorine, which in turn, improves taste of the water.
When you condition your hard water, you reduce limescale build-up and calcium deposits in your appliances, that can destroy them over time.
